The Percy Jones Collection consists of the tools and artefacts which were commonly used on a Welsh Upland Farm in the early years of the Twentieth Century.  At the last count the collection numbered over 200 items. Those tools represent the evolution of farm technology  from the Medieval period.  Many of the items in the collection would have been familiar to farmers from a thousand years earlier.

The Farming year was rhythmic and constant, the pattern of work was repeated year in and year out for generations, for centuries even.  The Collection is arranged to illustrate the various processes which were undertaken to reach the goal of harvesting the crops and processing the livestock.

Each display or talk can be tailored to a particular activity, a period or can be an overview of the farming year and the tools and equipment that would have traditionally been used.  The displays can include carts, ploughs, small hand tools, larger hand tools, the management of the land, sheep, cattle, pigs, poultry and the harvesting of arable crops.  The choice can be yours or you can enjoy what we display for you.
